We're a small Maryland operation built on open pasture, patience, and a simple promise: clean, honest meat from cattle that lived a good life.

Our story

Bar-G5 Cattle Co. started in 2019 with a small herd, a stretch of Maryland pasture, and a frustration with what passed for "good beef" on most grocery shelves. We wanted to know exactly how our food was raised — so we started raising it ourselves.

Today, the herd is bigger, the pasture is well-loved, and the standards haven't changed. Every animal is born, raised, and finished on grass right here on the farm.

How we raise our cattle

  • 100% grass-fed and finished. No grain, ever. Just rotated pasture and quality hay through winter.
  • No hormones, no antibiotics. Healthy animals don't need them — and we're committed to keeping it that way.
  • USDA-inspected processing. Butchered and packaged by a trusted local processor we've worked with for years.
  • Low-stress handling. Calm cattle make better beef. We take our time, every step.

From our table to yours

We feed our beef to our own family first — our kids, our parents, our friends at Sunday dinner. If it isn't good enough for that table, it doesn't leave the farm.
